September 9, 2012

It has definitely been awhile!

So I guess it's been a year since I posted last. Madilyn is now THREE years old. She amazes us on a daily basis. She's been sleeping in her big girl twin bed since May and we officially made the night-time pull-ups disappear back in June. She loves talking and socializing. Her teaches tell us how intelligent she is on a weekly basis. We of course think she's loving, sweet, brilliant, and more than we could have imagined for our daughter.
Scot has been attending UTA to complete his BA in Social Work. He just started his last year a few weeks ago, and we're possibly thinking that he will continue on to complete his Masters but that's not set in stone yet. I just began a new paralegal position at Patterson & Sheridan in downtown Dallas. It is strictly an Intellectual Property firm and I absolutely love going to work again. It's so nice to enjoy what you're doing and the people you work with on a daily basis! Gladney celebrated 125 years in April 2012 and I co-chaired the day event. We all had a fabulous time and it was definitely an experience for me.
I will continue to be on the Fort Worth Gladney Family Association (GFA) Board for 2012-2013. I will be assisting with the September kick-off and the April Blossoms event but also will be in charge of the November and May birth mother events this year. I'm super excited. I was also able to recruit Scot this year to be on the Fort Worth GFA Board with me. He is our Outreach chair for the board. He has already done an amazing job. We are both continuously speaking out about adoption and making everyone we know aware of how wonderful adoption is in our lives and many others too.
Summer 2012 has been a blast. Madilyn took swimming lessons for the first time, Rachel and I took the girls to American Girl, and then of course we are still cheering for our Texas Rangers!
